What even the best brands don’t realize about GEO
I had a call this week with the global SEO lead at one of the most recognizable luxury brands in the world.
This brand doesn’t need to fight for attention. They dominate search. Everyone knows their name (That’s my kind of luxury).
He wasn’t worried about his brand showing up in AI answers. They do and they will. That’s a given.
He was worried about how they show up. And that’s what most other enterprise brands I talk to are trying to solve, too.
When someone asks ChatGPT about your brand, what tone does it use? What language does it repeat? Does it actually understand what makes you different from competitors?
The funny thing is, he didn’t realize you can influence that.
You can.
You can shape how AI talks about you. How it describes your products. What associations it links to your brand.
That was everything to this guy. Because anyone can show up. But when you do, you’ve got to show up.
And you’ve got to leave one hell of an impression.
🎧 From the pod: How to create ‘prompt-seeded’ content
I cut the first Search Party podcast episode last week with Greg Connolly as my first guest.
Greg is a buddy and formerly the co-founder and CEO of Trifecta where he scaled the company to $100 million ARR. Now he’s making similar moves at Kora.
Greg and I talked a lot about how you can influence what models say about you through prompt-seeded content.
He laid out three tactics he’s been having a ton of success with recently:
GEO-optimized press releases. Yes, really. That includes competitor comparisons and technical specs that position you clearly.
A broad PR distribution strategy with targeted pitching to specific outlets like TechCrunch or WSJ.
A super active presence on Reddit and niche communities where language is raw and signal-rich. There’s a real art to this one…
All three strategies have been a game changer for Greg at Kora. Be sure to check out the episode to learn how he's doing it.

👋 Let me tell you a little about my story
You’re going to hear stories from a ton of amazing guests on the Search Party podcast, but before we get too deep, I want to tell you about my own story.
That’s right, it’s an interview with none other than myself.
It’s quick but I cover some fun stuff:
How I got my start in marketing at Red Bull
How I use AI to accelerate my own workflow
My advice for marketers navigating the AI era
The role of AI in relationship building
And be sure to like and subscribe while you’re there!
🫵 How are you navigating AI so far?
I’ll be doing a lot of talking on the pod, in this newsletter, on YouTube… but I want to hear from you, too.
Be sure you connect with me on LinkedIn.
Don’t be afraid to reach out, either. I love chatting with like-minded marketers who are as deep in the AI game as I am.
Talk to you soon,
Brandon
